4. I don't know much about you
You're wicca, no?

And you live in Minnesota?

And what do you do for a living?

(Sorry if this seems like I'm putting you on the spot, but I'm trying to get to know people as more than just a name on the screen)

11. Ah, ok
I'm currently between jobs here.

I'm curious about what flavor of pagan, if you're comfortable sharing.

:hi:

15. Googled it
Found the term "Kitchen Witch" on the first page.

What's a Kitchen Witch?

(again, I hope you don't mind sharing. I'm a curious person!)

17. It is kind of a euphemism for the type of pagan I am
Edited on Mon Dec-05-05 02:14 AM by KitchenWitch
Although I do keep an altar, it seems as if every surface in my home has some sort of ritual appeal. I am very flexible about ritual...whenever and whatever moves me.

On edit: I like to cook and bake too!

18. Ah ok!
Thanks for sharing!

While I was seeing what Google had to say, it just occured to me to wonder if the church I went to in Oakhurst was a front for a coven of pagans. A good percent of the people there, I got the biggest pagan vibe off of... I even asked Pastor Diana about it once... it's funny the things that occur to us! :D

19. What kind of a church was it
I do know that some Unitarian/Universalist churches have a group called CUUPS (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans)

22. Methodist
:D

Very, very laid back methodist.

Basically the focus was on service and good works more than dogma. Following the example of Jesus in being generous and welcoming, especially to the poor, disabled, and other people who have traditionally been marginalized. The church recently decided to be a reconciling church, and welcome gays openly (and since 3/5 people on the staff are gay/queer, it's a good thing).

Like many liberals, I've had a long standing suspicion of Christianity, and I think a lot of the beliefs of most Christians are too focused on death. Really morbid, when you think about it.

But a Christianity that is focused on actually reading the New Testament, following the example of Jesus, and trying to be a better global citizen, I'm ok with that. And this is from a person who is for the most part a mellow pagan/Taoist.

25. I love Jesus' example
And can totally get behind trying to follow that...

There are elements of American Indian, Theravedic Buddhism, Wicca, Celtic traditions, and Catholic spirituality in my rituals, since these things are part of my heritage.

26. My heritage is most recently Lutheran
oh yah.

Back before that there's probably some Catholicism, Celtic traditions, Scandanavian traditions, and whatnot in there, but I don't know much about them. :(

but I posted a thread a little over a week ago...

I got a new laptop and I'd had it two days when it got stolen on Thanksgiving.

So I was announcing to one and all that I'd replaced it.

20. Ha! My desktop laughs at your laptop
In all its big, well ventilated, easily upgraded glory. It also sneers as it reminds the world that it has 8 USB ports.

I really should be working on my proposal.
