Life is so fucking unfair sometimes....
A friend who has tried and tried to have another baby had her daughter 11 days ago... she has Trisomy 18... they are taking her off life support tomorrow. She is a wonderful, kind, loving mom... I HATE this. I hate that I am so far away and there is nothing I can do to help her other than listen. I HATE IT.

2. I can't imagine it either....
I can't imagine what it feels like to face tonight, or tomorrow, or forever in her shoes... holding her daughter and knowing that soon she will be gone. It just makes me so sad and so angry for them...

3. Wow... how terrible
I can't begin to think about how someone would deal with that. Even if you were w/ her, there is little that you would be able to do. Listening is really the best you can offer her.

6. I'm so sorry for your friend's loss and your pain as well.
I had friends that lost a child to severe birth defects and they had a bracelet made with the baby's name.

10. Sis and my BiL cary genes for cyctic fibrosis
Many miscarriages, 1/2 kids have CF, other half just carry the genes.

Tragedy all around. Your right, life doesn't seem fair sometimes. It's hardest to accept when bad things happen to good people.

Being there as a friend is most important, whether your next door or 1800 miles away. The best people feel deeply.

33. Oh, how heartbreaking! I am so sorry to hear of this news.
To lose a child is just unfathomable. May Comfort, Strength, Courage and Peace be theirs during this most difficult time. Listening to their pain and just being willing to BE with it, without having to fix it or make them feel better is the greatest gift you can give them, as a friend.

Perhaps you can light a candle from where you are, as they are removing her from life support. Help to shine her Home, with great Love and Compassion.

Blessings to All,
Shine

She will certainly be in my prayrs tonight.

If I may ask, what was the malformation? A friend has a T18 child and he nearly lost the baby to a heart defect. He survived the surgery, but is very disabled today.

She has many defects... several heart valve issues, as well as her heart being on the wrong side of her body, a cyst at the base of her spinal cords, and urinary and other misformations internally and externally. It is probably best that they let her go, but what a terrible choice to have to make. Thank you for your prayers for them.
