Why do you hate America?
Anytime we try to ask any questions of Chimpy and his administration/worshippers/sheep/followers/dittoheads/etc. they ask ys why we hate America. What good comebacks can we start using to stop them from getting away with that silliness? I was just curious. How do we turn that around on them?

2. That's a great start.
We need tons of those types of comebacks if we are ever going to win a debate with their unreasonable bs flying at us.

17. Unsweetened Iced Tea?
Edited on Sun Nov-27-05 01:23 AM by nashbridges
Do you have any idea you can't find such a beast south of DC on the East Coast? There are some of us that like tea made the way it was, without any added sugar, thank you very much.

If you're so in love with the drink, plant yourself anywhere in the south and I promise you a person who knows Iced Tea without sugar doesn't exist.

I think you don't know the magic of the lemon...

My grandfather said:
"You know the difference between a yankee and a damned yankee?
A yankee comes down..... stays for ten days and goes home.
A DAMNED yankee comes down..... and stays."

6. I hate what America has become.
I love what it is supposed to be.

Just a few decades ago, corporate executives made fifty times more than the average worker. Now it is something like five hundred times more. America has become "America, Inc." Corporate lobbyists control Congress. The oil industry controls the White House.

When our country was founded, corporations were strictly regulated and had to prove that they were serving the public or their charters were revoked. Now, we are oppressed by corporations for the reason that the average person cannot compete with them.

Sorry if I'm rambling off the top of my head.

7. Actually, that's good.
They make us have to brainstorm to come up with something to throw back at 'em. They don't debate rationally, so we have to do something that will get their attention and make them answer us when we ask them serious questions. Your answer was another great one. Please, don't call it rambling. You came up with a good angle on the issues. :pals:

9. Why do you allow our little children to be poisoned with mercury,
the little children? Why do you want them to die? Isn't that so un-American of you? You don't want the little children to die, do you? Since you love the little children so much, would you die for the little children?

That stops them dead in their tracks. They almost get violent. I have used that to shut them down when they bitch at my DU sweatshirt from days gone bye.

"Did you hate America during the Clinton administration?" Which is exactly what I said to someone who asked me that question a few weeks ago. I mean, as much as republicans were up Clinton's ass, the utter gall of accusing me of hating my country because I loathe Bush...I mean, REALLY.

12. Why do they hate people asking questions?
Then add in a lot of questions and statements hurled at Clinton...

Trent Lott's being my favorite, "We can support the troops without supporting the president" - but there are literally hundreds. If not thousands.

16. My response: "Exactly, and when will you stop hating America?"
And when they go "HUH"????
I continue: "You just asked me why I hate America...Are you looking for a reason to hate America? I have been voting for America while you vote against America's: environment, children's education, health-care, middle and poor classes, soldiers, fire and police services, separation of Church and State, rights to privacy and most importantly her Democracy. So my question remains: When will you stop hating America?"

Remember that game our parents played with thier hands "here's the church, here's the steeple, open the doors and see all the people"
The people being the most important part..... Bush forgot that.
