I cannot believe I am crying while watching an Adam Sandler movie
I'm watching "Big Daddy" and the social services guy just came and took the little kid away. Ouch!

Nice Sheryl Crow version of "Sweet Child O' Mine" though!

:D

1. I can't believe you are watching an Adam Sadler movie
He drives me nuts :freak:

:hide: But to be honest, that was one of his movies that I did like and I remember crying at that part of the movie. But heck, I cry when Nemo is taken by the diver.

 Though you are a tough mod, we all know that you are a softy with a big heart. This just confirms what we all know and love about you.

I'm a bit out of sorts today. Maybe it has to do with all the cleaning I'm avoiding. I even watched a couple of country music videos earlier!

Help! I've just flipped to a channel playing "The Bodyguard" with Whitney Houston - and left it there for longer than 20 seconds!

18. It didn't quite reduce me to tears, but I love the end of
"The Wedding Singer".

I wanna make you smile whenever you’re sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you

I’ll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

I’ll miss you
I’ll kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold

I’ll need you
I’ll feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if you’ve had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

19. Now that was a good movie
I really did like that one! Billy Idol on the plane was a classic touch!

"Big Daddy" was just background noise until that sad little moment when the kid was being led away, saying "But I wipe my own ass! I wipe my own ass" and Adam Sandler starts boo-hooing and sadly says, in a little folorn voice, "I know you do, kid."

44. I LOVE *most* Adam Sandler movies
There, I said it! :P

Actually, The Wedding Singer is my No. 1 favorite movie of all time right now. Sandler's earlier movies are pure crap - can't stand Happy Madison and some of those, just toooo much juvenile toilet humor. But some of his later ones have great values lessons. One in The Wedding Singer is to not be a materialistic, womanizing arsehole.

So, Adam Sandler as a prophet --- yeah. :)

36. It means a *lot* more when you see it the whole way through.
Now the ending's all ruined for you!

They set up a lot of stuff in the beginning, like what's "wrong" with her, how her family treats her, how he is, etc.... and then the fact that love remains in spite of memory (it reminds me a lot of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, actually)....

So, that one is worth watching all the way through?

I'll put it on the list, but there is an awesome thread around here somewhere today with a fantastic list of movies with a progressive theme - I've gotten several great recommendations from that one that jumped to the top of my list of movies to see!

And truth be told, I had caught enough of the movie to sort of get what was happening - that part was very sweet, as was the end, which I won't say more about.

While I won't detail the very end, I do have a question that I don't think is a spoiler for those who haven't seen the movie...

She has amnesia - I get that. But I've never heard of families recreating one day in the life of a person with amnesia over and over for any reason. Was it so she WOULDN'T remember the painful event that erased her long-term memory?

Help!
