What's the temperature where you are? At what temperature have you set your thermostat? Ours is at 66.

Everything freeze to death? It's just fascinating that people can get through that kind of cold. I'd think (sorry about this) snot would freeze instantly? Breathing would hurt, am I right?

27. It varies.
Yes, some critters do freeze to death, and lots of dead car batteries.
(Especially cars that aren't parked in garages.)

But far more critters and cars are casualties of being hit by other vehicles. :-)

37. I remember one winter when I was living in Wisconsin...
it got particularly cold for record periods of time. I think we went a two or three week stretch when the temperature never got above zero.

I was living with two roommates. We each took turns getting up in the night to start everybody's cars.

The first day it got above zero, my boss and I went outside for a smoke; it was something like 6 degrees, but it felt like a heat wave!

17. We have longer warm seasons, but we do have
low temperatures, snow, freezing temperatures (lowest I remember was 12 degrees fahrenheit), ice, etc. This is normal. It will warm up to either the high 50's or low 60's today and then get cold again tonight.

I say Arizona Time because we don't change our clocks here for Daylight Savings Time. In the Winter we are Mountain Time and in the Summer we are Pacific Time.
I keep my thermostat set at 65 and trust me it does get cold enough at night for the heat to kick on.

Scorching temperature of 25! Yes indeed, in January that does feel warm. Hmmm, rowing season unfortunately stopped two weeks ago, and I miss the river already. I've rowed in 20 degree weather, but it's a safety issue and club rules actually bar us from rowing when it gets that cold.
