Dumb Things You've Done Lately
for example: recently i got my hair cut short. my ears are not covered by long hair anymore and it's cold outside!

i'm sitting here wearing one of those outdoor headbands over my ears.

note to self: short haircut only when it's warm out.

1. Tried to kickstart a fire in the fireplace
with denatured alcohol. To say that this "really, really works" is an understatement. I'm fortunate to still have my eyebrows. :scared:

6. Oh, scoff at me.
Smarty-pants. The container doesn't say "Denatured alcohol." It says "Alcool à bruler," "Brennensprit" and "spirito da ardere."

I only found out it was denatured alcohol by the smell of the massive fireball that erupted as the liquid met the match. :scared:

10. Oh, I know. He could smell the flames through the closed
upstairs bedroom door AND his dreams. :eyes:

I've learned my lesson! I'll use turpentine from my studio next time I need to kickstart a fire in the fireplace.

11. When I was much younger I put to much lighter fluid in the BQ pit and
stood to close, and threw in a match. The flames were rather high,

my old pair of shorts I was wearing got rather warm.

5. I sold my gorgeous antique French 1900s bed.
Had it for 25 years. But I got an itch and had to have a Japanese platform bed. Got it and can't use my box springs and the without it the bed is bone-crushingly uncomfortable. I wake up feeling like I'm 90 years old. So I put the box springs on but had to put an ottoman next to the bed for my old kitty to climb up. Then my new kitten started bring crap from outside to put under the bed: rocks, dirt clods, all my dog's toys. So I said the hell with it and bought a beautiful wrought iron headboard and frame off Craig's List and am back in a comfortable bed again.

Sigh. Such a long journey.

7. Oh, dear. Thanks for the warning.
Call Me Wesley and I just chose a new Japanese platform bed, but we've not yet paid for it and brought it home. :scared: Dang!

Sorry for your discomfort, AK, but thanks for the warning. :pals:

8. You may have a different experience.
Platform beds are esthetically beautiful, really.

Maybe I'm just the Princess and the Pea and require box springs.

14. .
I love a soft bed, but can sleep anywhere. But Call Me Wesley _needs_ a medium to firm bed, so maybe the platform bed would be OK for us. Thanks for the heads-up, AK. :pals:
