Are YOU venturing out shopping tomorrow?
Circuit City has a great deal on a flat panel LCD TV, so I was actually contemplating trekking out at 5 am tomorrow to snag one. Don't know how bad it will be as I've never been brave enough to actually go out on Black Friday.

Are you going out shopping tomorrow, and if so, what for?

2. Nyah not shopping. ..
Going out later in the night but no shopping

My Mom usual shops but she's not feeling up to it this year.

And on an off topic note . . . I see you changed your sig. . . I'm not even an Eagles fan and I liked the other sig :(.

4. Ha...
Yeah, I figured it was silly to have two Eagles in my sig who aren't even playing the rest of the season.

I love my L.J., so he got to be there instead :)

On a side note too...your sig line always creeps me out! That BK guy scares the shit out of me!

13. LOL
Yah true Although we disagree on wether or not T.O should've been suspended.. I think there's no disagreement that it hurt the team... and Mcnabb out of the season usjust. I can't rag on your team though . . . I am a Dolphins fan :( . . .

But good replacement sig.

And yes just like the Commie Dog before him . . my damn sig gets more comments than I do ;).

But back on topic

Usually on Fridays I stay in my room and wait for my parents and grand parents to get back just so I know they survived the day. This year I'm not shopping but will be venturing out later in the night with friends.

5. My mom wants my cousin and I to venture out to Wal-mart at 5 am .
Soon as I heard her say that , I shuddered at the thought of being knocked down by shoppers . The only reason I have to venture out tomorrow is to return my coat for a bigger size - and then back in the house to feed myself pie .

10. Wal-Mart also has a good deal on flat panel TVs...
But I don't know if ethically I can buy from them, and my God...Wal-Mart is probably going to be the worst of the stores on Black Friday.

16. I wonder why I know NO one who ever goes out on Black Friday...
And yet, there are still masses and masses of people who do it and show up on the nightly news after getting into a fist fight?

Where do these people come from?

18. That is a real good question . .. .
I think for some people it's a urge it's like

No I will not shop . . I will not shop . . . I will not shop

"alarm clock goes off"

SHOPPING . . . SHOPPING .. . GLORIOUS SHOPPING

Then there is people like my grand parents and aunt who actually . .. ACTUALLY looks forward to this day for some ungoldy reason . . . so for those who say they will stay home... there is a bundle who for some reason figure. . . ehhh . . . why the hell not . .

Hell, I know of not one person who even attempts to go out. Just look at the responses on this thread!

These people must be hermits or something that store up all their energy and only come out of their houses on Black Friday :)

12. If you do venture out shopping tomorrow...
skip the malls and the big box stores. shop at small local independents, less crowds, more interesting stuff, hell you might even find stuff NOT made in China! Just a thought. I am staying home tomorrow, will onlyventure out to my local food panty to sort the canned goods. It is a big help to the emergency relief committee and it so wonderfully mindless!

19. My daughter wanted to, but they're already lined up at Best Buy in Toledo
Two guys have been there since 5:00pm this evening, then a few more came. Then the line got considerably longer by the 11:00 news. They have some good deals on computers ($400 laptop, $200 desktop) but I think they only have something like 20 of each advertised computer.

For the record..I never shop on Black Friday. Worked retail toooooo many years to even be anywhere near a store the day after Thanksgiving.

23. Against my better judgment, yes.
But I don't get down here often, and Mom doesn't get much of a chance to get out. So we will head to Janesville and listen to my niece tell us "I want that!" over and over again.

When we return to the apartment, I'm getting drunk.

24. Word of advice...if you wait until 5:00 am you'll be too late
I'm not kidding. I just drove by our local Circuit City and there are people there in tents already. Just for kicks I drove by Best Buy and there are probably about 20 or more people in line.

It's only 10:30 pm!!!

Walmart is offering some of it's Friday specials online. You might check that out.

I really wanted to get a notebook at Circuit City but I'm not going to spend the night in the parking lot.

28. No. Never do.
My sister was discussing this tonight. She used to go with her friend's family on Black Friday and get up at 4 a.m. They're hardcore shoppers. Shopping is their recreation and they even replace all their furniture every six months.

She's not going this year, though.

I'm going to the grocery store and putting Libby's canned pumpkin on my list because I saw CaliforniaPeggy's pumpkin pie pics and now I've got a bad craving for pumpkin pie.

But shopping for stuff? Huh-uh. Nope. No way. Not until I get rid of all this crap I've already got. :)

40. No, I am broke
Most of my money has been spent on surviving the aftermath of Katrina, but I did treat myself to a couple of gifts... considering what I've been through, and after doing well on my midterms. I bought the complete DVD set of "Black Adder" and "The Young Ones. :)

These are the only things I have bought this year that weren't so called "necessities." Call me stupidy, but I think they are! :D

43. Been there, done that
I left the house at 4:45 to go to Sams for two $69 Razr phones. I went to buy one on Wednesday night, and the nice young gentleman there told me if I waited until today they would be much cheaper. The store wasn't crowded at all....maybe 20-25 cars in the parking lot. Circuit City across the highway, however, was another story. They were the only store open in the shopping center, and the entire lot was full, and people were parked all along a side road, in a field, and on the SHOULDER OF A US HIGHWAY! I couldn't believe it.

I was home by 5:45, and that included a tstop for gas.
