softpaws for cats ! Now that I have scratches all over me....
One of our cats, rascal is so skittish he's nearly impossible to hold. I got a heavy towel and wrapped him in it, exposing only one leg so that Gryphon (my husband)could trim his claws and then put the softpaws on .... easy right? WRONG.

y'know peroxide stings when you put it on multiple scratches on your neck and chest ..

one to finish, 2 more to go. Yup, 3 cats.

1. Is it time for a discussion of de-clawing cats?

6. there are herbal sedatives that you can get for cats at most reputable
pet/feed stores. Usually used for grooming or airplane trips. those would probably help. Your vet or groomer can also put them on for you. A kitty muzzle (which covers the eyes as well as the mouth, might also calm kitty.

7. Touch their feet a lot when they are wee little kittens..
My cats actually like to have their feet massaged.. Of course I bottlefed them and was their only mom, so they are used to having me "mess" with them:)

Barring that, your strategy is probably the only way..

wear long sleeves..
