I know he's bat-shit crazy but I like Jack Van Impe.
To me he represents the classic religious nut that was obsessed with eschatology and not forcing their warped views on others. He's great because EVERYTHING that is in the news and I mean EVERYTHING is a sign of the apocalypse.

That and he has a impenetrable hair helmet.

2. I bet Rexella was pretty hot back in the day.
Jack was lucky to snatch that one up.

5. Whatever! She's alright if you like that normal look,
Personally, I think if the hair isn't pink/lavender/bluish, then you're not right with God:

4. Somebody tell Rexella the Flying Spaghetti Monster landed on her head

(I'm moderately embarrassed to admit I knew her name without looking it up.)

3. A sign of the apocolypse...
or a good excuse to have a new book ghost written.

I'll probably tune in more often as we approach... *gasp*...
6/6/6. I've never seen anyone raptured before.

6. I agree completely. He's a somewhat endearing looney.
I used to watch his show, er, *religiously*, and I always got the feeling they (he & Rexella) were sincere. Crazy, but sincere.
I really think they believe they are doing the Lord's work, and really want to help people.

That's the vibe I always got from them. That they really cared.
And you gotta love Jack's verbal spanking of Pat Robertson!

13. Yeah, after Pat Robertson called for the assassination of...
... Hugo Chavez, Jack compared him to Osama Bin Laden and said he shouldn't be leading Christians.

My dad and I enjoy his show for the same reasons you mentioned. It's very entertaining in a crazy-ass novelty sort of way and they seem like loony but nice old people. They have an endearing quality. No gay bashing or moralizing, just everything is a sign of the end of the world and they are reeeeally super excited about it.

My favorite is when they do a promo for a book or video. Chuck the announcer's voice is classic.

11. Yeah, Chuck "Oh Man" O'Man
I always thought he and Rexella had something going on under ol' Jack's nose. Well, probably not, but it would be funny if they did.

17. Takes me back, to the golden years of televangilists
in the early '80s. Every Sunday morning, my roomie and I would get up (hung over, of course), make coffee and food, settle down on the sofas and watch those guys. The giants - Swaggart, Tammy Faye, etc. And heckle. Good times, good times. Sigh.
