"Superman Returns" teaser trailer on tonight's Smallville
Description from Ain't It Cool News:

the teaser trailer for Superman is great! Working in the movie exhibition biz for 14 years, I have seen a lot of previews, teaser or theatrical. It’s a hard job to convey an upcoming movie without 1) showing too little, or 2) showing way too much. I usually prefer teasers that do just that, wet your appetite about what you are going to see. I was ecstatic at the outcome. There is no dialog other than Marlon Brando’s Jor-El speech from the original Donner film. I am referring to his speech that talks about “our capacity for good”. This voice over is done atop well paced images from the film. No annoying MTV quick edits, just enough to take in and grasp what you are seeing. The trailer has some cool visual images of the crashed ship, the Kent Farm, & The Daily Planet. There is a shot of Clark leaping across a field at the farm, as well as the one of him taking off straight up from the Daily Planet. But there is an awesome image of him flying slowly up above the clouds and as he hits center screen he is almost completely covered by an amazing sunset. The trailer ends as he is floating in space looking down at Earth. As we come over his shoulder we get a close up on his closed eyes. As Jor-El finishes his speech, “and it is for this reason, that I send them you, my only son.”, his eyes open and he shoots out of frame as the ‘S’ shield fades in. All of this and John Williams original score playing in the back ground had me absolutely giddy! I don’t care what anyone says about the costume being ‘gay’ or Routh not being able to fill out the suit, I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS ONE! I also hear that they will air this Thursday during Smallville, so keep an eye out!
