Christmas day music including songs about how the shopping season is just OVER?!

Portentous or pretentious?

...when they played some shitty Christmas song. I thought...'I did not just hear "Jingle Bells"! It's not even Thanksgiving yet!'
:grr:

What's next? Start playing them Labor Day??
 Sorry just needed to vent...:(

2. The fact all this nonsense started three WEEKS early is indicative...
...of the economy being in very bad shape. (this xmas pitching starting litterally along with November; with Thanksgiving being 3 weeks late into November...)

The music is supposed to get us in a spending mood so we can buy ipods for our children (who'll listen to them in school, no doubt) and other cheap knick-knacks for everyone.

3. It's just a 2 to 3 minute reminder...
...of my inability to purchase anything Christmas-like. I'm such a bad consumer!

4. Pre-Thanksgiving Christmas ANYTHING pisses me right off.
Give Thanksgiving it's due, I say.

After TG, however, I'll be the first one to admit that ALL I listen to is Christmas Music until December 26th. I just love the stuff. And if that makes me some jackass consumer robot....so be it.

7. No, mine wakes me with the classical station

I like Christmas music, but it annoys the crap out of me when it's overdone (and I *hate hate hate* the background music in stores, I have a very hard time hearing when there's background noise and the hum of shoppers is bad enough without the droning of crappy speakers.)

8. I say "don't forget Thanksgiving!"
Some how, Halloween was barely celebrated and Thanksgiving has been completely rolled over in the mad rush towrd Christmas. I just hate it. I like to enjoy each holiday in order and in its own time.

I'm becoming a grumpy person around Christmas these past few years.
I hate having to drive several hundred miles on Christmas day. Maybe I'll just spend Christmas day at home with Mr. CB this year.

I do love my Andy Williams Christmas CD! It's the best Christmas music!

I'm looking forward to New Years, Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day (my anniversary) more than Christmas.

9. I slap the snooze bar too fast to make out what is being played.
3 notes tops and WHACK, 10 more minutes of bliss.

10. No - thank goodness.
Classical music station - B.B.C. Radio3.

I woke up to the 7 o'clock news - which was followed by Stravinsky's "Greeting Prelude" (which I don't remember) and Handel's The King Shall Rejoice" which was gorgeous.

Radio3 doesn't even have much Christmas music on Christmas day itself.
