Should I cash my $2.50 check from MADD?

"You can cash the check if you want. I really mean that. But what I hope you decide to do is return it to me along with the most generous donation you can manage today."

They also included a free pen. What would you do?

Seriously, though, it's a good group - send them some money. But also tell them to stop polluting the earth with stupid pens that people are just gonna throw away. If they want to protect the lives of kids, it isn't just about stopping drunk driving, it's also about STOPPING THE KILLING OF THE PLANET they will inhabit.

5. Yeah, the hell with them

Besides violating my policy of validating junk mail campaigns, I personally feel our drunk driving laws are more than strict enough. Not that I condone serious drinking and driving, but for an area of the country so sprawled out (SoCal) and devoid of public tranportation options where your life can be seriously fucked by driving under the influence of as little as two drinks, my position is that they've cracked down more than enough. At this point it seems the severity of the laws have maximized their deterence potential - people are going to drive impaired regardless, and its not right to ruin people who are more than capable of handling driving home after a couple drinks at the bar.
