On-line petition for HBO, Showtime etc to bring back "Firefly"
The success of "Serenity", coupled with the dedicated fan base for "Firefly" makes this a real possibility. I WANT to know what happens next....

"As anyone who has seen an episode of Firefly can tell you. Firefly is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant television series ever created. How else could a television show which only aired for nine episodes, in the wrong order, aired on Friday night, was prempted by baseball, was given little to no marketing, and was pulled from the air so quickly, managed to draw in such a dedicated fan base that the dvds sales numbered among the highest of all time, a major feature film was produced, and the series is still, to this day, the highest rated television series on tv.com three years after the last episode was aired."

4. First rate sci-fi series that is the subject of a recent movie....
Its being rerun on the Sci-fi channel and I think theres enough interest in the series to justify GD. We'll see if the moderators agree!

6. Agreed. General discussion is supposed to be "general"
after all.
It's a good show -- hope they can bring it back!

8. Made a good date movie for me.
So far so good.

The series is so very enjoyable. Cowboy six-gun bar-fighting sex-kitten Casablanca-heroic action adventure in a space ship, a firefly, bringing its own light of life where ever it flies.

11. You've never seen Blake's 7, which is a source of inspiration for Firefly
"Serenity" itself taking overt plot ideas from no less than FOUR episodes of B7 (maybe 5), and I don't mean the "movie cliche" bit at the end either...

Not that I'm dissing Firefly, I never expected B7 to be remade, or done so well - particularly these days.

Of course, B7 was given no budget at all so most Americans probably won't care for it. :eyes:

12. When you rent the DVDs, please watch them in order.
Some later episodes refer to previous ones and earlier episodes lead into later ones, the usual storyarc stuff...

"Shindig", "Out of Gas", and especially "Arial" are my favorite 3 episodes...
