. . . and start speaking Spanish to them. If they don't understand what you are saying, look at them like they are crazy and storm out.

3. Speaking of boring that reminds me of a story
when I was a kid we went to Taiwan (father is a Univ. Professor - we were on Sabbatical) and my dad decided to have a suit made, well communication at the tailor's was a bit awkward untill they figured out they could get by with a bit of Spanish. The tailor had spent some time in the Philipines and my dad lived in the southwest, where you pick up a bit.

Chinese suit for American man transacted in Spanish.
