Need advice about Cockatiels....
I ended up with a 3 "lost" cockatiels - along with the one that I already had. Then to top it off, they had 3 babies. I was already having a hard enough time dealing with 4 birds.

I would really only like to keep 2 of them - preferably 2 males. I would like to give the 2 mates to a breeder but I'm not sure if I can stomach giving them away.

Once I tried to give one of the birds away and one of the other birds got upset - flying around my condo screeching. I'm afraid that they are all too attached to each other. I'm also afraid that the parents of the baby birds will be upset if I give the babies away (the parents have been feeding the babies all along.

Ideally, I'd like to keep one of the grown birds (not one of the mates) and one of the babies so I only have two.

Will the birds be able to get over this? I'm afraid the grown bird will be all upset when I get rid of the birds. Thsi is the bird who "freaked out" when I tried to give a bird away. It seems like he's sort of attached to one of the birds that I'd like to give away.

I'm rather indulgent with my pets and hate to see them get upset....

3. They will adapt.
There might be an adjustment period but they will be fine. Where are you? I'd love to take your extras, haven't been around the sweet things in years. Currently owned by a Blue and Gold Macaw.
