Poll question: Do you like your family?
I've read a few posts over the time here about people's families, and got to thinking. How many of us actually like our families? How many of us think our families are totaly nuts either politically or just straight bonkers? Does anyone here have a Rockwellian family experience?

Does that even exist? It seems most people I know hate their families, or think they're crazy. How do you feel?

2. I love my family
I don't agree with them about everything or have perfect relationships with everybody, but they're all great people. One nice thing about my family is that our disagrements, dissapointments and dysfuction are out in the open, we don't hide our feelings and pretend everything's perfect when it's not.

Those Rockwellian families scare me, it seems like they always turn out to be frightfully screwed up but experts at hiding it.

4. I agree about Rockwellian Families
It just seems so unnatural too me, that I always suspect something must be buried under the surface. Then again, I've seen a couple families in my day who just were like that. All happy, loving, friendly, always getting along. Sure they'd have little arguments and the like, but they'd always be resolved in one positive way or another. Always made me jealous, and wished I could have a nice supportive family like that.

3. My family drives me crazy
I can barely spend 2-3 days with family members these days before I snap. I don't know really why, little things mainly. We do much better when we're on opposite sides of the continent and in phone or email communication. Put us all under one roof and people will be fighting within a day or two.

6. My family drives me crazy, sometimes I wish I had nothing to do with them,
but we spend time together whenever possible, at which point, they drive me crazy, and that is why I love them.

(Cats are part of the family, let it be noted)

love'em all, all of 'em love me. dec 11 we have a big dinner and it is the closest we could rent the comunity center this year. We still own our home place even though our parents have been gone a long time.
Where I hope for my ashes to be placed. Nothing quite like family.

16. My family is not a family
We're better friends than family...and my counselor thinks they are the cause of my depression.
