Any McRib fans out there?
I for one find the fact that they would shape the boneless sandwhich to look like an authentic rib slab with bones insulting to my intelligence. Anyway, just a random thought.

1. For my part,
I say "Die, Heretic" to anyone who happens to like 'em. Ribs are sacred where I come from, kind of a holy redneck communion, with white loaf bread to do the sop-up duties in the chalice.

I had my first one somewhere around Odessa, MO 'long about 1982. It was my last.

12. I'm pleased to here that your first McRib was your last :)
I actually had quite a few of them before I caught on to what it actually was. That barbecue sauce on it WAS good. :( But I wised up.

4. Apparently, I am the only DUer honest enough...
...to admit that I like those horrid excuses for food.

Just one of my many shameful secrets.

6. do they still make those things?
I haven't been in a McD's in 12 years or so.

How can it be the "Arctic Orange" shake didn't become a hit, but the McRib did?

10. It was a "hit" because it was "limited time only", I suppose.
And I haven't actually heard them mentioned for a few years, so they may
be gone forever.

Nothing like that fancy ketchup to make it go down

23. Yeah, those were great!
At my school district, they had 2 different "burgers".
Standard school "hamburgers", which were made from
100% real American grade-D cow parts....

And then the other ones. They were thinner, more uniform,
and had fake grill marks on them that didn't fool anybody.

They didn't contain enough (any?) meat to legally call them "hamburgers",
but danged if I can remember what the school called them.
Something like "BBQ patties" or somesuch.

Anyway, THOSE were the good ones! And damn right-
that ketchup was perfect on them!

My sweetie is a vegetarian, so I have cooked every "veggie-burger"
known to man, and I'll tell ya:
NONE of them come close to those crappy 2-ounce soyburgers
my HS paid 7 cents apiece for back in 1980!

Then again, none of them are as good as fresh SQUIRREL, either,
but that is a whole other discussion!
