1. Oh- that's this weekend? My parents each went to one of those schools
and every year it is a tense day at their house. Glad I'm now on the other coast!!!

6. yes it was sorta sad...
but they were both having fun with it.

The DJ also had both schools fight songs and would play them periodically.

10. Well I've lived with it my whole life
It is such an obsession. Even though they both graduated over 50 years ago they don't miss a game...well at least on TV.

and the colors of both schools always showed prominently in our house.

3. Its for all the marbles...almost...
Michigan needs Michigan State to beat Penn State. But... THE game is Mich v Ohio St.

This is the one game I actually root for Michigan since I am a State fan. Thank God Basketball is starting...:-)

8. Oh How We Hate Ohio State
I used to love that when I lived near Ann Arbor. Now that school really rocks! I wish this year was a little better for UM, but they are still fun to watch.

20. My Daughter attends Alma College...but visited her boyfriend this last
weekend in Ann Arbor. (he attends Mich) It was her first visit and she fell in love with the campus. Although she said Alma is a lot cleaner. LoL.... She told me yesterday she plans on finishing her law degree at Michigan after she graduates from Alma.

Even though I love college football and I will be rooting Michigan on this weekend... I am a Spartan fan... so I am very happy to have roundball starting ... the Spartans will be making another run at the national title this year. They have plenty of returning talent and some awesome new players.

9. Being a buckeye, this IS the game to watch every year. It never
disappoints and it's always close. The buckeye's are strong but it's in the big house and anything could happen, however, my money and heart is on the buckeyes!

PS: My father used to tell us that he'd pay for any college except Michigan! LOL Football is a religion in Ohio.

11. When my father came to visit me here in CA, I took him to the Rose Bowl
there were many years in the 70s - the Wood Hayes' years - when OSU made it to that game. There is a wall with plaques commemorating each Rose Bowl Game, listing teams, coaches, scores, etc.

My dad stood in front of that wall mesmerized! It was like he was coming to Mecca.

16. Hey! I bet on a tie!
Well, frankly I don't care who wins, it's just a game after all. I might care a bit if UNC or A&T or Wake were playing but I'm just not an American football fan.

Sorry.

24. I've seen one episode of John Ritter's last TV show
"8 Simple Rules" or whatever it is. In it his character was a Michigan football fan. He said something to the effect of: "To Michigan fans, football is religion. And the Ohio State game is Easter."

Go Blue!

(Although we have been pretty lackluster this year.....)

Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 04:46 PM by underpants
she saw me watch this game one year. She swore that she would leave me alone to watch it from now on.

It gets rather ugly.

ON EDIT-I was born in Xenia when Rex Kern was the QB.
