Are you going to heaven?
Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 02:26 PM by AngryAmish
I suppose this isn't for the non-believers out there but I got to thinking today. I was at the funeral this morning and was debating whether or not I was going to heaven.

I have seen polls that a very high percentage of people who do believe think they are going to heaven. However there are a whole lot of people who lead real bad lives. Nobody wants to think they are doomed -- it is the human condition.

Of the mortal sins I have committed 1. missed Sunday Mass lots of times 2. I have used contraceptives and 3. lust. (I'm Catholic but feel free to use your own church's rules).

So if I get hit by a bus today there is a good chance I am going to hell (if the Church is to be believed).

So, how about you? Where are you going to go?

1. Dunno. But it's easier to guess who isn't.
As I recall, the phrase "See you in hell" is very popular.

Not that I'm saying that to anybody... it's not up for me to judge.

It's still a fun line to hear, however.

2. I don't believe in the traditional concepts of heaven and hell.
I believe there is an after-life, and the individual has a choice in whether or not s/he acknowledges it.

11. Tell me about it!!
If she'd say it to me I'd ask her about the one commandment about judging others (I think its a commandment oops :) ) and is she REALLY that sure she's going.

:hi:

18. If the FReeps are going there, then I'd rather burn in Hell.
Heaven 'twould be boring, anyway.

And who the hell says there's a heaven and hell? We die and we all move on; I don't think the "good" will go one place while the "bad" go another.

It's not like we should be bothered about it. I'll be dead by then; what will I care?

19. Yes. I am going up like a rocket.
In fact, when I go, people will stop, stare at the sky and ask "Is that the space shuttle?" and it will be me.
