I was bitten by a chinchilla once. I guess it was my fault, as I did stick my fingers in the cage.

He licks and nibbles a little but nothing calculated to hurt.

We've been told that we need to give him a couple of weeks for mutual acclimatization with the other critturs before we let him have a runaround outside his house.
