Police shut down Minnesota mall as Boy band B5 incites 'girl frenzy'

BROOKLYN CENTER, Minnesota (AP) -- Police shut down a suburban shopping mall for several hours Saturday after screaming fans of the boy band B5 rushed the stage during a free concert.

Five people suffered minor injuries, police said.

More than 2,000 fans, mostly teenage girls, converged on Brookdale Center mall for the show, sponsored by the local Radio Disney station, KDIZ-AM. The band had only begun the second song when the chaos broke out and girls began rushing the stage.

"It just seemed like a girl frenzy," said Christopher Taykalo of Radio Disney. "A lot of young teenage girls who were trying to get close to their artists that they are huge fans of."

3. Overpaid girls... this hype-up marketing scam is not new. Also,

with faces like those, what sort of impressions are going to be made?

* Are they constipated?

* Holding a grudge? If so, against who or whom? Mr. Whipple?

* Couldn't get into the Menudo concert when they were 8?

* I know! They are incapable of making real money and they are expressing it in that photo-op!

It's a marketing sham to hype up yet another 5-minute commodity. And when the 5 minutes is up, we'll have another reason to peg to the looks on their faces.

Too many dumb girls and greedy boys; all of whom lack dignity.

Michael Nesmith would be blushing in embarrassment over the devolution of the American populace, I should think... (he was in the first "boy band" but had a sense of dignity... )
