this is, traditionally, the last drink of the carefree weekend ... I often mix one for myself shortly after that moment when I realize that soon Saturday night will be over, leaving only Sunday before the work week starts again (sigh ... :rattles_ice_in_glass: ...)

8. Oh dear - I am going to have to adjust my attitude here

I have to admit, as an Auburn fan, I was no friend to Oklahoma football last season. Always thought USC-AU would have been a better national championship contest (though I do think the final result would have been the same, just not the score). I think I might have used the term "overrated" a time or two.

I've no explanation for the orange bowl, but I do think that, if that game were played 100 times it wouldn't ever be so lopsided again ... not saying ou would always win or anything, but that game was an aberration. USC was just about unbeatable that day ... anyway, based on our results and schedule in the regular season, I think it would have been about impossible to keep us out of the championship game, but-if it's any consolation-I was actually hoping for an OU-Auburn Orange Bowl ...

The last few years, OU has had an almost evil number of 11 a.m. games, so the beer and football breakfast of champions has been quite common ;)

My wife became ill with something this morning, and I've been the chief cook and bottle washer, while she read novels on the couch.
