3. that first 15 minutes is riveting. I saw it at the movies and people
brought small children with, can you imagine a 3 year old watching that?

4. One of my roommates went to the theater to see it when it came out
She said that she cried through the whole opening sequence. She wasn't prepared for it... I don't think anyone was.

And we thought the greatest generation had taken care of the Fascists.
Sad.

5. When I saw Private Ryan at the theater 3 older men of the age to
be in WWII walked out during the opening.

6. my dad was in Normandy and he wouldn't go see it...
I sat there paralyzed for the first 30 minutes. It was so rivoting.

7. I think anyone considering enlisting in the service
should be required to watch that scene to clear up any Hollyweird misconceptions they might have about war being fair and wounds and death being neat and clean.
