It's my 50th birthday on Saturday
And I have not received one present. Now, normally, I wouldn't be upset. But it is a huge milestone in a woman's life. So. Presents... lots of presents. Cough it up kids.

1. Here's the deal:
You don't get any prezzies UNTIL your birthday.
It's the law.
;-)

2. And don't forget to give YOURSELF a present!
I have done that for years -- might be a purse or item of clothing I really want, might be like this year when I turned 50 -- I took myself and Mr. SG to Las Vegas, my favorite playground.

5. Would love to do that
unfortunately, have no money, unless the folks cough up. I don't need anything except food, rent, and transit... so basically, everything. Just sayin' It is not the nirvana that everyone thinks it is.

6. It doesn't even have to be anything you have to buy....
Some years, my birthday present fund is pretty low, so I might do something like hang out in downtown Seattle, go to the Pike Place Market, and window shop and people watch.

It's mainly that the present has to be something I like, whether it costs nothing or costs a lot.

So happy birthday, in advance! (And no, 50 isn't nirvana, but it's NOT bad at all!)

4. Sounds good except for one little problem
we don't have $1 bills in Canada. The smallest bills we have are $5. So thanks but no thanks. Other than that, I just find male strippers/dancers creepy. Just me.

7. I bet it'll be better than this one ...
My husband's 50th birthday was Oct. 30. He actually made a "wish list" for us this time.

1) He wanted to take an experienced rider class (extra motorcycle lessons);
2) Magazine subscription;
3) Belt (well, it was a special one);
4) Nice dinner and cake;
5) No "over the hill" stuff.

Hurricane Wilma blew in on Oct. 24 and cut the power ... not to mention the mess it made.

1) The class, which I signed him up for, was canceled until some future date, still undecided.
2) One daughter bought the magazine back in August, but the first issue won't come until January. Can't buy it in the stores.
3) Other daughter bought the belt, but it was too big. Not her fault -- the lady at the store was too lazy to special-order the right size.
4) Dinty Moore Beef Stew cooked over the camping stove (hey, it's made with fresh carrots and potatoes); grocery store cake.
5) OK, we managed that one. All we had to do was NOTHING.

One daughter baked brownies that day and sent them from TN, so at least he got some great goodies a few days later.

He had this to say about it: "Well, it was memorable." :shrug:

Happy 50th Birthday! I hope your kids come through for you ... it's still early. :)

9. Happy Birthday, comrade!
From the 1955 club. I chalked up my 50th lap around the sun, back in September.

I'll play Hawaii 5-0 in your honour.
