You know what really gets me?

When someone begins a sentence with "No offense, but..." and then follows it up with something complete offensive, like "You're a douchebag" or "I find you to be one of the most annoying, clueless dipshits that I've ever met." You know what I mean?

Why even bother saying "No offense, but......."? You KNOW you're going to be offensive. Why not just cut through the fat and state what you mean? You won't disarm a statement by saying that...believe me.

The you is impersonal here, not anyone in particular.

WRONG:
