I'm buying a house in DC (Should I B&B the guest suite?)
The house (completely renovated) is a couple of blocks from Eastern Market and 8th St. restaurants and shops, and a short walk to the Capitol. The guest suite has skylights and a private bath w/Jacuzzi & separate shower.

My daughter lives in Hollywood (movie make up artist), and she only visits once or twice a year now, which means that the guest room would be empty most of the time.

Should I B&B the guest suite?

2. But I'd have to clean up after him. EEEWWWW!
I was hoping to find Dems who'd like to stay in an extremely trendy neighborhood home with great perks (Egyptian cotton sheets & Turkish towels) for $100 per night.

Now You've got me thinking about DeLay.

Ick.

5. do you need the money?
if not, don't bother, it is a lot of freaking work. I would simply make it avaliable to anyone you know coming through town. Or maybe rent it to an intern or staffer who needs short term housing?

6. Hm. DC mortgage, taxes, insurance... Yeah, some $ would help.
We're also supporting the daughter while she works on her union card (3 years-- she has a year to go).

I checked online and found that B&Bs in DC charge almost as much as hotels, and there isn't one in my neighborhood.

8. OMG! I used to live in that neighborhood! I lived on the corner
of South Carolina Ave., right next to the Eastern Market metro.

I loved that neighborhood.
