1. Thanks! I'm coming into town on the 3rd, and looking for good music.
I'd love it if you'd let me know if something good is coming along any time between the 3rd and the 13th! Thanks!

the 2nd. Damn.

I did some checking on my own already, and that's what I've come up with so far. Haven't looked into other genres, mostly folk so far.

:hi:

7. Mabus' guitar style reminds me of Doc Watson
and his lyrics are brilliant. Wish you could hear it! :-)

8. Doc Watson rocks now question do you consider the late Johnny Horton
folk or country? I am so glad I started playing the harp it really opened up a world of blues and folk music i never knew. Heck I am even liking blue grass a bit. Yep my horner marine band special 20 is the best present my ole man ever got me.

10. Johnny Horton = Rockabilly
to my ear anyway. "Folk" is such a broad term anymore...it covers World Music, Singer-Songwriters like Paxton and Nanci Griffith, Bluegrass and Oldtime, Celtic, and the old English tunes that people like Jean Ritchie and Pete Seeger recorded...

I guess you could say Rockabilly is another subgenre of Folk, unless you're one of the purists who insists that Folk must be played on acoustic instruments with as little amplification as possible.

But what do I know? The label is far less important than our enjoyment of the music. :-)
