For movies, who do you trust more: Critics or People of the Norm?

I trust people on DU, personally. Most movies that the critics loved I hated, unless it was a very, very, very good movie. I seem to like the quirky, new movies that the critics so often put down.

Also, my mother and father watched a movie called 'The Guru' that the critics trashed. They thought it was rather good. We really don't like film critics at our house.

1. Critics, somewhat...

I'll check a site like Rotten Tomatoes, which collects a lot of crtitcs' reviews, just to get the overall opinion. Mostly though, I have a few friends who share a similar love for film and similar tastes (but not a similar inability to type, usually), so I just discuss movies with them.

What a bunch of wankers!

Critics rarely agree with each other, so worrying about critical opinion is fairly pointless. I give a little weight to critics that I like.

If you follow DU film threads, you'll find much disagreement as well.

Just follow my opinion. Remember, good taste is my taste.
