OMG! They're doing a remake of Yours, Mine & Ours! Anyone seen the
original? Came out in the 60's--had Lucy and Henry Fonda. She had 8 kids, he had 10. Lucy was probably pushing 50 and they had her get preganant. Not great, but interesting to see two legends together.

Anyway, there's a picture of the new one on the Valu-pak that came in th mail. Dennis Quaid is the guy--can't figure out who has the Lucy role. They're not being true to the real story (upon which the Lucy-Henry movie was based--the kids were all biologically theirs) because I see at least 4 African-American kids, two little Asian girls and maybe two Latino kids. Obviously trying to broaden the appeal to a larger movie-going audience.

Anyway, I think I'll skip this.

2. Hmm...the photo doesn't look like Renee...but that would make sense
as the woman would have to be close to 40 since a couple of the kids are in their late teens.

5. I watched it again a few weeks ago...I know I saw it when I was much
younger. Lucy really is the best thing about it..Henry just couldn't be funny in it.

8. That's true--they don't make sweet anymore. Yeah, the drunk scene
was classic Lucy.

After Lucy died, the actress--Morgan Brittany--who played one of the girls was talking about that scene and every time they had to do a take, Lucy was spot on--could pick right back up once the cameras started rolling again.

11. That was Morgan Brittany before she changed her name.
Her name was Suzanne Cupito back then.

12. Yeah, I knew she was in it, and when I re-watched it she wasn't
credited, so I knew it was a name change. Think she was the second eldest daughter--the oldest daughter sort of looked like her, too.

4. Yes. The trailer aired before the Wallace and Gromit movie.
The well is completely dry.

6. The well went dry 20 years ago...now they're scraping the mud from
the bottom of the well.

9. Have I seen the original? I own the original!
I *love* that movie, and I have ever since I saw it as a kid.

I will not bother with the remake.

10. LOL. Me, too.
Bought the DVD at Winn Dixie two years ago and felt like I had found the Ark of the Covenant. I love that movie.

And, I will probably go see the remake as well. Seems like harmless entertainment for my 9yo.
