Anyone seen NASA's "worldwind" (sat images)
more stuff than google earth, (IR, radar images) check it out:

alas, it's only for Windows, so I can't play...

unlike the google stuff, there's no ads or anything. and who really needs something like this?

4. I need it! Hate to travel, Now I can get motion sick at the desk!
Havocdad is trying the google globe and I may download the World Wind so we can compare them.

We are having fun with the google globe one. We can get lost without even leaving the house! :) He took me on a tour of the mountians he romped on in Austria and the glaciers he nearly slip off in Glacier park.

Gonna try the NASA one now too and see which we get the most fun from,

Actually, the program will help him a lot with his work. Too bad his computer at the office is not quite up to handeling it. He may have to do more work from home! :D

5. I ran the flash demo. Looks great. Now I have a reason to get a new
graphics card. Thanks for the link. It looks much better than Google Earth. If only we could get the rocket scientist to concentrate on alternative energy.

6. I downloaded the program...
WOW! What a resource HOG! It is VERY difficult to use. I prefer Google Earth.
