In the Navy? Need your Help

I'm commencing a writing project - fiction - that will require various knowledge and info about all facets of the Navy.

As part of my research, I was hoping, and humbly request if there are any DUers who are either in, have served, or have some association with the Navy who I could ask from time to time in the form of private messages questions and feedback.

I also humbly request if lounge denizens could kick this from time to time so it doesn't get archived by Monday so I can kick it on Monday so DUers on a weekend respite might see it at the beginning of the week.

PM me if you need more detailed info - otherwise if you could just post on this thread if it's okay to PM you with queries. The type of info I'm looking for would be the type of stuff it's hard to find on line, or stuff like - how would this type of person react in this situation, slang and terminology, and maybe some techinical facts.
