I'm not asking for medical advice,
but is anyone experienced with colonoscopy prep? I plan on working while doing the prep, should I bring extra clothes?

2. That's sort of a bad idea
I understand why you would do that if you really have to work. When I did my prep though, I spent 30-50% of the day sitting on the toilet. I didn't feel very well either.

4. Ah, I'd take a sick day.
I spent most of the day on the toilet. It's unpredictable when it comes and you *can't* hold it in sometimes. I think you're asking for trouble if you go in.

7. Agree with the others -
Stay at home, close to the john! :hurts: I just had one about 3 weeks ago and I would NOT have wanted to be at work that day! You wouldn't be able to get any work done, anyway. Trust us.

10. I hear it is not a bad procedure,
although I procrastinated a bit. My first was supposed to be at 40 due to a strong family history of colon cancer. My brother waited until he was 43, and had 12 polyps. One of those 12 was very bad, nearly through the bowel wall. That convinced me that at 41 it was time. I'll let you know how it goes.

14. thank god you're doing it .......
as my gastroenterologist told me, i'll never die from colon ca as long as i keep getting my colonoscopies. i'm a little polyp farm myself - so it's imperative to get those critters out. which prep are you doing?

Fleets followed up with NuLytely, I think. I have to pick it up on payday, so the RX is still on my desk at home.

15. The colonoscopy procedure
.... is a piece of cake. The prep is a piece of shit. You have to drink about a half gallon of the foulest crap ever made in consumable liquid form. After you've done it you will laugh at the very idea of being more than 20 feet from a toilet. :(

20. My son had one 2 years ago.
I spent the better part of the day talking to him through the bathroom door. He said he was peeing out his butt, and had no control. Sorry for the vulgarity.
