Are you feeling a little blue tonight? My PM box is always open, you know.

I sent your package on Saturday (have I told you that? I'm still sleepy!)

Thank you for your kind words about the painting. I'm in the mood for a tranquil series just now, so maybe this is a good start.

Are you back to a long cycle of work now?

9. nico lyrics for: Nighthawks XXV = frozen warnings ~
Friar hermit stumbles over
The cloudy borderline
Frozen warnings close to mine
Close to the frozen borderline
Frozen warnings close to mine
Close to the frozen borderline

Into numberless reflections
Rises a smile from your eyes into mine
Frozen warnings close to mine
Close to the frozen borderline
Frozen warnings close to mine
Close to the frozen borderline

Over railroad station tracks
Faintly flickers a modest cry
From without a thousand cycles
A thousand cycles to come
A thousand times to win
A thousand ways to run the world
In a similar reply

Friar hermit stumbles over
The cloudy borderline
Frozen warnings close to mine
Close to the frozen borderline
Frozen warnings close to mine
Close to the frozen borderline

Close to the frozen borderline
Close to the frozen borderline
Close to the frozen borderline

48. yes sir, please do, i like her: Nibelungen, as well...
Since the first of you and me asleep
In a Nibelungen land
Titanic curses trap me in
A banishment of stay
Symbols vanish from my senses
Stem and stave the view appears

Symbols captured in a trance
Vanish from my glance
For the various defenses
I enforce a strike the alarm
For the various defences
That choose to be here and there
And lose the direction everywhere

Since the first of you and me asleep
In a Nibelungen land where we cannot be
Almond trees grow along the mountain trail
From their tongues the words are spelling
The telling numb

I cannot hear it anymore
I cannot hear it anymore

Since the first of you and me here and there
We lose the direction everywhere
Shrieking city sun shiver in my veins
In flames I run
In flames I run
Waiting for the sign to come

Will you spell the words for me
Will you spell the words for me to hear
Nibelungen
Nibelungen
Nibelungen land

I began painting about five years ago; started exhibiting about four years ago.

(As I was telling SeattleGirl yesterday, the more I look at the painting, the more I notice that the top turning edge of the bamboo isn't _quite_ right. Hmmm.)

86. Thank you, Tafiti.
I always like the work to be as close to perfect as possible so that, after a painting has a new home, there are no little "quirks" to disturb the owner's enjoyment.

(The other reason is, I don't want to visit one of my paintings and its owner in 10 years and have to say, "Wow, that's crap. Can I offer you a refund?" )

You're being modest. You know full well that would never happen. Besides, as meticulous as you seem to be, I'm guessing you wouldn't sell a painting you weren't completely happy with in the first place, eh?

I'd be the same way. I'm a perfectionist to a fault sometimes.

70. Nah.
It was fine, I wasn't disappointed or anything. It was on a Sunday, which is usually spent watching football for a full half-day. And that's exactly what I did. :)

Although, a little mastuba would've been nice. :D

74. So tonight, my 2 year old nephew sang "The Star Spangled Banner"
to me over the phone. It was so damned cute! On my birthday last Saturday, he left a voicemail on my cell phone, singing "Happy Birthday" to me. I've saved that one! Makes me smile to just hear it!

Who else has wonderful, delightful young 'un's in their lives?

76. I have 2 nephews and a niece.
This summer, my 3-year-old nephew suddenly blurted out over dinner:

"I don't like chocolate milk! It's not fluids!"

We busted up laughing, because we knew exactly where it came from. My brother (his dad) is really health-conscious, and when it's hot out, and they'd ask him for chocolate milk, he'd always tell them no. They need to drink juice or water because they need fluids when it's hot outside. :)

80. They are so literal, aren't they?
When he visited us this summer, my husband bought him some animal flashcards. I was going through them with our nephew, and he was naming "cow", "horse" "Pig" etc. Then we came to the the picture of a snake, which was curled to the left with the upper part and to the right with the lower part. He looked at it and said, "Donuts!" I about fell over laughing! His paternal grandmother, who takes care of him while mommy and daddy are at work, sometimes brings donuts to him in the morning, and so when he saw the double curls of the snake, he thought it was donuts!

84. That's hilarious!
I just love teasing them, they say the funniest things. Both of my nephews have this thing (again, from their dad), where they'll just name cars that go by, by model. "That's a Maxima, that's a CRV, that's a Durango", etc. Once, when the oldest was 3 1/2 or 4, he was in a church daycare during a wedding, and the sitter was walking with him outside in the parking lot. He was walking past all the cars, naming every single one of them off! She was stunned! They pick up things so fast. :)

77. I have small dogs
I sang "Star Eyes" to them the other night. They went crazy, jumping around, yipping... which turned to snarls and growls. Then fought with each other.

Made me feel like a witch with dark powers.}(

83. They are priceless, aren't they?
We have two raised garden boxes in the yard, but did not plant anything this year. Before my nephew got here, I told my husband that our nephew was going to think they were sandboxes, as the two little girls next door to him have a sandbox. Sure enough, he and I were out in the yard and he saw the boxes, and said "Sand!" I said, "Dirt!" "Sand!" "Dirt!" We went back and forth on that for awhile. Several days later, my sister and my nephew were in the yard and he picked some grass, went over to the garden boxes, threw the grass in, and said "Dirt!!"

85. Yes, that's true.
Our goddaughters are being raised by their mom as sort of pagans, yet in school here they attend Catholic catechism once a week. One evening, when the youngest was about five years old, she called me husband on the phone.

"Götti (godfather), what's about this Adam and Eve and the snake?" she asked.

"Well, geez, Luisa, why don't you ask your mother?" Mr. Heidi suggested.

"I did ask her, and she told me call _you_," goddaughter replied.

We spent the evening cracking up (and rolling our eyes) about that one.

87. Good one!
I took my daughter to a meeting with me one time (not work related), and the guy sitting across from her was black. She was about 5 at the time. She looked at me and said, "Mommy, that man is black!" Everybody at the table just cracked up. The man to whom she referred said, "Wow, observant, isn't she?" and then laughed some more. I was initially somewhat embarassed, but it turned out to be pretty funny.

89. Oh, yeah!
I was once in the grocery store with a friend's three-year-old, and in the aisle we passed a very tall black man. My little friend craned his neck about 180 degrees and yelled down the aisle to the guy, "Hi, Michael Jordon!"

The guy came walking up the aisle toward us, bent himself down to little-kid-height and shook my little friend's hand and said, "Nah, I'm not Michael Jordon, but I sure would like to have his money."

My little friend shook the guy's hand, looked really sad, and said, "But do you _know_ Michael Jordan?"

91. When I was about 5, my mother and I were driving through
downtown Tacoma, WA. It was a nice day, so mom had the windows rolled down. I was in the backseat, just behind her. I looked across the street, and there was a very obese woman in a bright red coat walking on the sidewalk. I yelled out, "Mommy, look at that really big fat lady!!" Sheesh my poor mother couldn't stuff me under the seat fast enough! To this day, I am hoping for that woman's forgiveness!

102. It was a pretty good Monday...
I am now free of exams and assignments for a couple of weeks, so that's nice. Had a folklore exam this morning, thus ending the academic reign of terror that has been keeping me busy the past two weeks, haha. I changed the wallpaper on my desktop, for the first time in months. And I watched Nosferatu The Vampyre. Fell asleep after that, so I slept early (it's about 5am now, probably won't be sleeping for a while now) and now here I am. I might try to do something creative before I have to get ready to go to class (at 10:30am).

I haven't been watching TV much at all lately. What night/time? I'll have to start watching. I used to watch their PPV shows back when they first started, haven't seen much since then, though.
