Absolutely it had everything, and that is why I want to see more games just like it!
Crede was awesome on defense, saving a couple of runs, and with that pop in his bat...if he wasn't the Sox's MVP tonight, I don't know who else you'd nominate.
Certainly Cotts and Jenks did great off the bench in late relief, but Crede just kept coming thru...both at the plate, and on defense.
And the 'Stros got nothing to be ashamed of this game, they played their hearts out, kept coming back, made some great defensive plays themselves, including getting out of the jam in the sixth inning with bases loaded, they kept that game close, and it was all-around a fabulous game!
This is baseball as it was meant to be...from the purists' point of view! It had everything! Some damned good pitching on both sides, great defense, and a little pop in the bat on both sides, a nice, close contest, no blowouts...just excellent!!
Now, the fact that the two teams in the Series this years are both teams of which I have been a fan for over 20 years...well, I might be a bit biased, but damn, that was a game to remember!
Born in the south Side of Chicago, I'm a 34-year long White Sox fan. Transplanted to Texas as a teenager, I'm a 20-year fan of the Astros. So, in the end, I gotta hope the Sox win it all, but, as I said, I still want a seven-game Series, and all of them close, I want both teams to be able to walk away proud, with their heads held high, whichever team winds up World Champs!
Either way, it'll be a team I love!!
