1. Many years ago (like 20) I worked with a man who liked to say gams.
It seemed to be one of his favorite words.

2. LOL! I actually used that word a week or so ago!
I don't remember ever using the word before (though I've long known what it means), but I saw a woman with beautiful gams and actually said to myself, "Holy Shit! What a pair of gams!"

I have no idea why my mind fed me that word, instead of the other word that I have *always* used instead.

I like it when my brain feeds me a word from out of my ordinary lexicon.

4. When I hear (or read) the word gams...
I automatically think of Betty Grable and Rita Hayworth.

12. a bounder
and a boor, cur, lout, scoundrel and rogue. I can think of several individuals in the Bush Administration who fit the image of a bounder.

(bounder: An ill-bred, unscrupulous man, according to the American Heritage Dictionary, 2000)

16. toots
As in, "Howdy, Toots!"

Movies and radio shows from the late thirties seem to indicate that "toots" was a unisexual term -- applied to both men and women.

21. ...wen....
WEN....A harmless cyst, especially on the scalp or face, containing the fatty secretion of a sebaceous gland.

My doctor told me: nobody calls them wens...anymore. She told me the term was archaic.
