18. Captain Morgan. Bad rum, cool outfit.

Friends rented an old house in a historic graveyard every year, and had a kickass party, with some of the proceed going to the group that kept up the graveyard grounds.

My friend is Jefferson at Williamsburg, and was able to lend me a gorgeous red colonial-looking coat, found a tri-cornered hat and some cool boots. The key was a bottle of Captain Morgan, so I could make all the attractive boys at the party do shots. I make a really cute transvestite, if I must say so myself.

19. Royal Canadian Mounted Police costume story...

This wasn't Halloween, but it's a great story.

I sang in a GLBT/friendly chorus for seven years. www.southcoastchorale.org We put on some really, really fun shows, called them "cabaret" -- members could audition solos/duets/etc for the director and from that he'd put together the show, with a few chorus numbers. Full staging, costumes, etc. GREAT fun.

One year the biggest, baddest, most gorgeous, butchest baritone, Thom, wore a real RCMP costume and sang "Sooner Or Later" from the movie "Dick Tracy" -- "I always get my man..." One of my favorite memories.
