Hockey sucks now.

I caught my first game last night since the rules changed, and it sucks.

I know the scoring is higher, but this cherry-picking nonsense is absurd. I feel bad for the goalies.

Used to be the game was practically over with a 4-1 lead. Last night LA came back over Colorado for a 5-4 win, because they apparently can huck the puck nowadays.

Grumble. Anyone care to fill me in on all the new rules? McNabb didn't cut it for me last night. :shrug:

9. New Rules

No red line for 2 line passes. Will allow for more open neutral zone play and set up outlet passes

touch up offsides. A player can get back onside by going back and 'touching up' at the blue line.

Cut the size of Goalie pads, and crack down on obstruction calls

Penalty shots decide OT (my favourite addition)

No line change for icing teams (my least favourite addition)

The Marty Brodeur Rule, Goalies can no longer go into the corner to get the puck, this will allow the team on the attack to dump and chase instead of trying to skate past the D.

I am sooooooooooooooo happy that Hockey is back and all you ignorant wet blankets who hate Hockey can just deal. I know you don't care, but I do, so please quit pissing on a sport you don't understand

10. The ONLY problem I see is with the goalies,

but if they think it's fine (and many view it as a challenge, which is cool) then I'm all for it.

The increase in scoring won't be as huge come later in the season when the current massive amount of penalties (due to the new rules) goes back to normal.


I will miss the 5OT games though. :(

I don't think the shootout applies in the post-season though (I could be wrong)

but I meant the playoff games will be shorter because of the fact that it's easier to score now. I can't imagine a game going to even three 20min OTs now with all these rule changes.

Every game I've seen so far has been fun. BTW, Colorado must suck pretty bad if they blow a 3 goal lead in the 3rd. Perhaps, they should play better D and not assume that they have the game wrapped up already. :P
