Please provide ideas: I am dressing as a Japanese person in pajamas
Right, so where I work, everyone is dressing up. My department has decided on pajamas.

I have a cool kimono (well, not an actual kimono, but one of those summer ones that doesn't have that big thing on your back... and it is actually from Japan - my ex bought it there)... and so I since I didn't want to spend any money on this, I thought I would dress as a geisha in pajamas.

I was thinking:

Red kimono

Black four-inch tall platform sandals with white socks

Curlers in hair, but with chopsticks with silk flowers stuck in the top

White makeup with tiny red mouth, then overlaid with green face-mask-style makeup.

A Hello Kitty plush toy

Is this crazy or cool?

And, yes I get to sit down most of the day.

3. What you have is called a yukata--or maybe even a nemaki, the nemaki
being the bedtime version. (Nemaki are typically white with a blue pattern, shorter than a yukata, and tied with a cloth belt about an inch wide.)

I don't know what geisha actually wear to bed, but you'd probably just wear tabi (split-toed socks) walking around indoors, no sandals.

You'd sleep in a futon (under quilts), and instead of a pillow, you'd have a block of wood under your neck to preserve your elaborate hairdo.

6. Don't do the
white face... If you have access to Ben Nye makeup, they do a great 'geisha' colour foundation. It *looks* white, but trust me, you end up looking like a clown/mime
