"I ONLY want to offer my service to a celebrity clientele..."
Could ANYONE help me understand this? When did this happen? When did the world as we know it, turn into one where no service is of value unless it is primarily one that services celebrities, or the uber wealthy?

It seems everytime I read about a class or workshop in ANYTHING, someone is touting the fact that this person has served a celebrity clientele. Workout videos aren't just workouts--because this guy is THE TRAINER OF THE STARS!!!

In personal research I've done for prior interests, it seems many people ONLY want to do something if it's somehow linked to celebs. Anything less than that is beneath them. :wtf:

I find this trend disturbing and it makes me sad. Doesn't anyone want OUR money? Does anyone want to service the working stiff?

Is it wrong to WANT to service celebrities or the wealthy--no, not at all. It just seems like few people derive value of anything less than that anymore and that bothers me. I mean, there are more 'average' people than there are superstars, right?

Like that show--that guy with the hair salon...is his name Johnathan? That was his goal. To work with wealthy clients and famous clients. He wanted the whole jet set lifestyle--the money and fame. Bully for him--he made it. But with networks publicizing the hell out of guys like him, there seems there's no inherent value in the guy or girl down the street, that just wants to be of service--to average, everyday, human beings...

When and how did this happen? Anyone?
