Student Ambassador Program
Anyone have any first hand experience with this program through People To People International? I'd like some incite from anyone who has either been or is a parent of anyone who has been a student ambassador. Thank you!!!!

3. thank you
my daughter will be 14 next summer and has been invited to Australia also. It's alot of money, but I do believe it will be well worth it to her. I've called asking for the information (who's on the board and the annual report) from both Student Ambassadors and their parent company People to People. I've also checked with the Better Business Bureau and all looks good so far. The price is between 4 and 5 thousand, but it will be the shot of a lifetime in my opinion. Thank you for answering!!!

5. wow, the price hasn't gone up!
i'm surprised, that's about what it was when my bro did it, almost 10 years ago. coolness! my parents felt the same way, a lot of $$, but worth it...and it was! :)

2. I was invited but couldn't afford it.
I've heard some pretty good things about it.
The programs that I wanted were studying the space program in the USSR(shows how long ago this was!) or studying herbology and natural medicine in China.

6. Very expensive for a family
who couldn't afford much in the first place.
But it is a highly reputable program, if that helps.

7. It does help
thank you. My sister blew it off as a scam (she thinks that about everything I believe in) but I didn't think this was at all. Thanks!!!

8. I went on one to Europe
The trip was amazing, some of the kids I went with, not so much. I had no problems with the structure of People to People, though, and absolutely loved getting to see all the history I'd only read about. If your daughter is mature enough to really enjoy the history and culture, then you should seriously look into it. The only problem with a group like that, and with kids that age, is that a fair percentage of them are WAY too immature to be on such a trip. I didn't like most of the kids I traveled with, but I am still glad I got to go because seeing Europe was amazing.

9. thank you!
My daughter is very mature for 13. It amazes me sometimes that she is that young. She has such a grip on who she is and what she wants from her life that I have no problem looking into this for her. The money aspect may be an issue, but as I told my husband (jokingly of course) if I had to kill him for his insurance money, it may be worth it.... (grin) Thank you for the perspective. I appreciate it! Kitty
