TomKitten: Apocalypse Now

http://www.gawker.com/news/life-style/tomkitten-apocalypse-now-130575.php

No! No! We refuse to believe this, and we wouldn’t put it past anyone at Life & Style to get all crazy with the Photoshop. Hell, you can buy fake pregnancy bellies at any good costume shop. This is simply NOT REAL. What you are seeing is a fabrication, a satanic mirage, and we’re only trying to warn you. DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE LIFE & STYLE.

It's coming for us. Soon it shall burst forth and swallow us whole.
by girlgraceless on 10/12/05 02:15 PM

Here is what we call hard-hitting, investigative reporting: I am 5 months pregnant and my bellybutton hasn't yet turned inside-out like Katie Holmes's has. That means she is more pregnant than I am. That means she's been carrying L. Ron's spawn since, like, at least April.
by angelina on 10/12/05 02:55 PM

That is so completely Photoshopped...unless the baby spawn is already emmitting an evil aura so strong it erases all of the clothing wrinkles in the 2-inch radius around the belly button. And speaking of, that belly button is making turkey thermometers jealous.
by Steverino on 10/12/05 03:17 PM

she looks at least six months preggers in this photo. Perhaps she's gotten a navel extension.

1. Three months pregnant?
No way, baby......A three month pregnancy does NOT show......

I have been there and done that, twice now.....I KNOW.....

Believe me, it shows soon enough, and can't end soon enough.....

This pic is probably photo-shopped, or else she's wearing one of those fake pregnancy bellies mentioned above.....

Silly girl.......

15. Yes, yes it does!
I have a picture of me about three months along with my son around my birthday 2001, and you can definitely SEE that I was pregnant. I looked like I was at least five months along.

HOWEVER - I was 35 and on my third child. I think it would be highly unusual for a young woman on her first pregnancy to be anywhere near showing at three months. Katie looks 5-6 months in that picture.

18. You should have seen me at 3 months!
I swear, I showed at 3 weeks ... by 3 months, I was HUGE! And I was only 20 years old. Everyone is different. I looked like I was ready to pop by 6 months for both of mine. By 9 months, I was, well, unbelievable. You could have spread a tablecloth over my belly and laid out a complete picnic on it. Oh, and the baby weighed over 9 pounds.

27. You sound a lot like me.
I must have gained six pounds just watching the stick turn pink!

With my oldest child, I was very young (20), and I had an easy pregnancy, gaining 26 pounds.

With my other two, I was 33 and 35 when they were born. By six months along with my now almost 6-year-old, people thought I was due "any day"! Those babies were 9½ pounds and 10½ pounds. By comparison, my first was only 8 pounds.

just bad taste in clothes and men.

Of course having the spawn of cruise DOES mean she'll never ever have to work again... and she'll live a nice life, since it appears he's not interested in marrying her.

She'll have the baby in March. It's a boy.

5. Looks a little different in this one, I think

Also, can you wear jeans like that if you're THAT pregnant? That's what kind of gave it away to me.

In this one, too:

Looks like the same outfits...same day...

9. Could be a multiple pregnancy....
Twins, triples, etc. tend to "show" significantly earlier than singleton pregnancies. And Ms. Holmes, while tall, is rather willowy and lean normally. I can see her showing more obviously rather early if it's twins.

Heck, I had a friend who looked 5-6 months along at 12 weeks and that was a single pregnancy. However in all my 5' 3" glory, I barely showed at 24 weeks when I went into labor with my son. The security officer at the ER didn't believe I was pregnant, never mind telling the charge nurse I was the emergency OB patient my doctor had just called in. My navel stayed an "innie" too...

Personally, I think Katie Holmes is probably doing what a number of celebritiess have done - fudging the dates so she doesn't have to worry about press members hanging about when she heads to the hospital to deliver.

14. Well if my theory of in-vitro
or some other form of fertility treatment is true then a multiple pregnancy would be more likely.

Or she could be having one of those Rosemary's baby pregnancies and carrying Xenu's spawn :tinfoilhat:?

13. She is incredibly thin so I can believe three months. At 3 months
pregnant with my daughter I was showing quite a bit, because I was really skinny. Outie belly buttons can look like that, and my turkey timer popped out at 4 months. Don't these reporters have anything better to do? :hi:

17. well, there is a rumor circulating
*I can't believe I'm posting this, but the thread was here, so here goes*

Anyway, there is a story circulating that her doctors have "put her on notice" that she is twice as likely to give birth early. Something having to do with the fact that she was a preemie herself. (I'm not sure of the medical science behind that.)

Anyway, the speculation is that TomKat themselves have planted this story to cover the fact that she is much farther along than what the official story is. People are speculating that she's actually pregnant with her ex-boyfriend's (Chris Klein, I think?) child, not Tom Cruise's baby.

31. Those rumors would explain a lot.
Katie's extreme, er, comfort with everything bizarre about the "courtship," which seemed to me at times more desperate and almost grateful than could be accounted for even with the newfound wealth and boost to her stardom being involved with Cruise was sure to bring.

Everyone is different and it could be twins perhaps. If she had a slightly herniated umbilicus already, that might explain the "outie" factor. Who the Hell knows?
