Do you think my Cat "Flea Taxi" will come home after this?

I chopped down a bunch of Polk weed plants yesterday and had them piled up in the yard. I had to get rid of them because they tend to spread and if they got into the hay field it wouldn't be fit to eat.
I put some newspapers in the pile and poured a liberal amount of gasoline on the pile. I then struck a match and tossed it. As the match arced toward the pile I saw flea taxi sitting on the other side of the pile about 10 ft away. The initial ignition was quite impressive with flames shooting up 15 ft in the air in a big "whoosh". I observed Flea Taxi running toward the woods. I haven't seen him since. He didn't come home for dinner last night and I have yet to see him this morning.
I hope this didn't scare him away forever!

4. No sign of him yet. Its been 36 hours.

I am hoping he will come back, his twin Brother has been a bit antsy howling at the front door.

7. HES BACK.

He showed up for dinner this evening. He was out hunting, covered in burs and other assorted Field debris. I think he may have been in the neighbors Field that he just cut for hay. There are usually a lot of dead rodents and stuff after the hay is cut.
Anyways, thanks for the kind words! I guess I won't worry too much next time!
