video iPod question
Will people download TV shows on their computers and then transfer them to the video iPods, or do the video iPods have their own internet connection for downloading?

1. Not sure
My guess is they would download it onto their computer, then transfer it over.

2. Another question: Could you d/l from any site
or would you have to download from iTunes? Or convert them to IPod format at iTunes.

4. Probably would have to download them from the iTunes site .
They have the videos for sale in the new iTunes 6 . I just recently purchased an iPod color with 20 GB . Won't be buying the new one nor will I upgrade to version 6 of iTunes .

10. But if you have iTunes already, the upgrade is free so why not?
I've upgraded to version6 and it's awesome.

Isn't iTunes a free download anyway? Not sure.

5. If you have QuickTime Pro you can convert movies to iPod format (.m4v)
But it supports .mov and .mpg files as well, so you can download your own.

Probably not.

7. Apple.com only says .mpg and .mov, so I don't think so unfortunately.
I wish it did.

8. Not surprising...
One of my biggest gripes about the iPod has always been lack of support for different formats (most specifically OGG, which I prefer to MP3). OGG I can understand, somewhat, since it's not all that common yet, but divx and xvid are the most common type of videos.

9. I think it's because of the fact that, well, most of the movies
that people download 'illegally' are in divx format. But most 'illegal' songs are in mp3 format and if they hadn't supported that then the iPod would never have been successful!

The support might be there, just not unlocked. Like WMA support and OGG support.
