BIG QUESTION FOR SEATTLE DUERS! Cost of living!!

I had this in my original post but this deserve a post onto it self really.
How much can a person make and what is the cost of living?
Let me put it this way, Can a person earn a living without sacrificing their life!
Here in Joplin, if you want to make money you must either be rich already or have 3 jobs. Most of the time it takes a couple to have 2(full time, one day job and one night job) jobs a piece to make ends meat!
