I love Scissor Sisters ... but why did they have to cover Floyd?!?!
Thanks to Logo, I got to know Scissor Sisters (Logo plays their videos all the time). So today I finally bought the CD. It's really good! But ... they did a disco version of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" and it makes me want to rip my ears off!

Note to Scissor Sisters ... never, EVER mix Pink Floyd and disco! It's just ... WRONG!!! :puke:  :puke:  :puke:

Anyway, it really is a fun CD full of catchy pop songs ... just skip over Track 3 and you'll be fine. ;-)

1. Obviously you have never heard Luther Wright and the Wrongs
Rebuild the Wall - It's a country cover of the entire wall album.

Actually - It's rather good. Goodbye blue sky gets turned into a bluegrass tune.

7. "Goodbye blue sky gets turned into a bluegrass tune"
Are you serious?? Oh man ... I'm very open-minded and I love when people experiment creatively, but I don't know if I could handle that, LOL!

Here's the thing ... I think Pink Floyd's music is not meant to simply be listened to - it's meant to be experienced. Eliminating the "haunting" sound of the music by turning it into disco or country (or any other genre) kind of kills the experience. I mean, it may sound good, but it just doesn't feel the same. ;-)

I guess I saw the Pink Floyd laser show at the old Hayden Planetarium in NYC too many times, LOL!

2. Floyd is good mixed into techno.
I would like to hear the disco version. And the country rendition as listed in post below. I like bluegrass, but not country so much.

But discoizing "Comfortably Numb"??? :grr: :grr: :grr:
Point me to these Scissor Sisters. They shall feel my wrath! :nuke:

On edit: There's also the Austin Lounge Lizards' bluegrass version of "Brain Damage," which kicks ass.

12. I haven't heard the CD, technically
KPIG used to play cuts from it fairly often. One night they played the whole thing.
