8. Those! Those are the ones I wanted SO BAD in about first grade.
1972-ish. I wanted go go boots in the worst way. Needless to say, my mother did not comply with that request.

My first grade teacher was young and beautiful and had shiny boots with a zipper. I wanted to grow up to look JUST like her.

22. 1969. 1st grade. Bonnie Sinclair had a pair & I COVETED them.
Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 10:57 PM by CottonBear
I never got a pair. Bonnie had long brown hair and a green mini dress to go with the white go go boots,

I had a blonde bob and a red and navy dress with sensible oxfords amd white socks.

I remember that day like it was yesterday.

My student teacher (Miss Bates, regular teacher was Mrs. Drewery) had a rockin' flowered mini-dress and purple stockings and LONG blonde hair. **SIGH**

Her Banana seat could just somehow get a tear in it, hypothically speaking....

24. Bonnie got her period and walked around all over junior high
school with a stain on her white dress.

Bonnie had zits and never went to a school dance.

She married a ventriloquist.

She was never cool after 1st grade.

College in the mid to late seventies was rather boring
There was still a feminist movement going, but none of the activism of the sixties.

It seems like the generation that came of age in the late sixties really understands what is going on with this country now better than any other age group.

30. I was in junior high and high school mid 70s to early 80s.
I knew about the previous generation but I came of age just a bit later. During my senior year of HS Reagan was elected. The Lennon was murdered and my dad died :(
I am in solidarity w/ the 60s generation. ERA never came to be. I was in support of the ERA.

The 80s sucked, politically.

41. My Mom had those. She wore them to Tom Jones concerts.
She still has a sweaty hanky Tom threw to the crowd. Ewwwwww...

Anyway, Mom had a mini skirt to go along w/ the boots. She was one hot little mama in the Midwest 'burbs in the late '60s.
