my mom had some moles checked- results came back...skin cancer. They think they got it all during the biopsy, and are checking the edges...also she supposedly has the "good kind" that doesn't spread quickly...is there really a good kind of cancer? In the last two years my mom has had a brain anyruism, a lobodomy, a heart attack, kidney failure, and an artifical skull just put in in July...she was finally doing better, back to her old self...and now this...please good thoughts this way...

But yes, there is a less bad type of skin cancer, melanoma being the far worse variety that I'm glad it's not.

But that's still quite a medical history. Hope she has a run of good health after this.

after a certain age everybody has skin cancer, my parents are beach bums and have had scads of moles, some biopsied as cancer, removed over the years, they don't spread, and they are removed so skillfully now that it doesn't even leave a scar -- even on the face!

don't worry, after an artificial skull, this will be cake

12. Yes there is a good kind and a bad kind of skin cancer

Sounds like she has carcinoma. The bad kind of skin cancer is melanoma (one spot of melanoma means one must have at least a 10 inch by 10 inch area of skin completely removed, and undergo chemotherapy.

My grandmother died of melanoma before I was born.

My positive healing thoughts are with you and her, sounds like she has been through a lot.
