Poll question: How many cell phone minutes do you go through a month?
In another thread a poster said they think that many people use their cell phones too much. So, I wonder how much the average DUer spends on the cell phone. I am 200-300 minutes a month.

3. It should be on your bill.
I only know because I pay for more minutes than I use. x( But I never get around to changing my plan.

But you have a good reason. I know people who use more than that just chatting it up with their friends.

I travel a lot so a land line didn't helpand my customers live in all time zones I think.

I feel like a borg and I look like a crazy person wondering around talking to myself. But I at least don't yell in public. I hate when you are forced to join in other phone conversations in public places.

with my husband and two teens. The girl teen is responsible for chewing up most of the minutes.

13. Of course. That's what girl-teens are good for.
I spent insane amounts of time on the phone when I was a girl teen. Good thing my parents didn't have a cell phone to share with me or I probably wouldn't be alive today.

14. LOL. No kidding.
When I first went to this family share thing about 1 year ago, the bill was supposed to be about $100 per month. Imagine my surprise when I opened the bill and it was for $482????!!!! Well, turns out the princess was text messaging and getting text messages, not knowing that she only got 100 per month.

Solved the problem. Paid $5 per month for her to text message her little heart out. Better than getting a big cell phone bill.

I remember years ago when my husband's cell for work routinely topped $1000. It was awful. Bag in the days of bag phones. Then, he got a Star Tac, which was promptly stolen. Sigh.

15. Ugh!
$1,000? I would die! My biggest bill was $300 once, but the SO was at a class for work for two weeks, so we talked for hours and hours. We thought using the cell would save money on long distance. :eyes: We weren't so smart about it. :D

16. I know. It sucked eggs. The company routinely took 90 days to
reimburse him, and we were just married with a baby. Not a lot of disposable cash.

Now, I can't imagine a bill that high, not with the unlimited minutes, et al. Most of his charges at that time, 14 years ago, were from roaming. $3-5 bucks a pop.

When cell phones first came out their billing practices were ridiculous. They finally figured out people weren't going for that.

22. According to the poll three other people don't have cell phones.
:D

I often wish I didn't have a cell phone, but then I think about driving around without one and I know it would be my luck that the day I got rid of my cell phone would be the day I break down on the side of the road somewhere. And people in Maryland aren't really the types to stop and help you out on the side of the road.

Some people in this thread have used a lot more. My celly doesn't get good reception in my house so I rarely use it at home. I have free state to state long distance on my house phone so I just use that when I'm home.

56. Over 800 a month
but thanks to free weekends, free nights (I pay an extra $7 a month so they go from 7 pm to 7 am unlike the usually 9 pm to 6 am. That little bit of time makes a big difference for me.), and free cell phone to cell phone calling I only use about 100 peak minutes per month so I still get an insane amount of roll over minutes. I don't think I talk on the phone alot but there are a few people that I tend to get into long conversations with.
