Microwave Grape racing. Mindless pastime or competitive sport?

I heard about this years ago and we used to do it on race weekends and at Indy after the 2nd weekend of qualifying, the 4 most boring days of the racing season. It is something that is really pretty funny. Read this link http://www.sonic.net/~paul/humour/msg00236.html to get the idea.

Sometimes the grapes just spin (we called it a "Whirly") sometimes they just boil and go flat right where they sit (A "Bubbler" or "Steamer") and sometimes they shoot across the oven so fast they smash into the other wall! ( Typically, the winner) You can even give them little numbers with a sharpie pen, just like a little race ca...er grape. Yeah....a race grape

A tip; When you remove them from the stem, try and twist them off as opposed to pulling them off. You are looking for the smallest orifice in order to increase the jet effect.

Well....in grape racing, the downside is a lot of grape juice in your microwave. Sounds like in Peep Jousting, you have a bit of a smell to deal with.

There also needs to be discussion regarding the acceleration qualities of a Concord as opposed to a White California Table Grape.

Is it ok to use wine grapes or should it ONLY be grocery store table grapes?
Not everyone can get a bunch of fresh Pinot Noirs, and if there is a member of the league in,....say...NAPA, Ca. that has an astoundingly quick little Cabernet, well......you can see where i am going here.
