1. I have seen the toe nails here! I have!
I wondered if the woman was going to swoop upside down and hang from the tree with them like the vampires in Lost Boys.

12. I'd guess mid-30s.
Dressed really skanky. And she had the toes, and the nails. Her fingernails were long and airbrushed, and her pinky nail was pierced with a gold ring through it. The toenails were French Manicured, just like the photo.

:scared:

10. They are well done aren't they?
I have to hope they were laminates or something. Something that manicurists could buy and just put on there. Can you imagine how long that would take to paint?

Then again, people take hours to do hair extensions and braids and whatnot, so you never know.

The SpongeBob and Simpsons images look painted though.

42. They probably are not laminates.
I had my nails done many years ago for a "spirit" event. The manicurist actually used toothpicks to get the intricate designs and the words on there properly.
Please keep in mind that I was 20 and there was a prize involved for the person who had "the most spirit". It took about an hour to do my nails and that was just for the designs.

Same here, except I rarely even cut them. I'm so bad. I just shape them until one breaks, then cut them all... heh... I'm kinda lazy with my nails. :P

19. The toenails are so revolting to me I would probably gag if I saw them
in person. Toenails are NOT attractive, I'm sorry. A good pedicure can at least make them look decent. Making them into claws, however, does not.

15. Why do women purposefully handicap themselves?! Seriously!!
It is something I will never, ever understand. I'm sorry, but that's fucked up. I like to look put together and feminine, but not at the expense of physical comfort. I see women with nails like that, teetering around on 4-inch stilletoes and wearing skin tight microminis and I can't believe what I'm seeing. Especially in places where any sane person would be wearing comfortable shoes because of the standing and walking involved (museums, walking tours, airports, concerts). I want to be able to walk and sit comfortably, thank you very much. And I don't want to have to hire someone to dial my phone or hold a pen for me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for individual style. While I personally think those nails look really trashy (and the toenails positively revolting), I fully recognize that's just MHO. The part that bothers me is the notion that modern women would still be physically hobbling themselves to feel attractive. Why not just amputate your fingers altogether and glue soda cans directly to your hands? Or replace your retinas with jewels and sequins?

23. acrylic atrocity! even the ((((((shudder)))))) toenails are fakes!
The logos may have been painted freehand, believe it or not. They make tiny airbrushes just for "nail art".

But judging from the length and degree of arch, there's no way that any of those are natural nails. Nuh uh.

Why do people do this to themselves? What kind of manual dexterity could one expect to have after having a set of those things bonded to ones fingertips? I like nice nails, but those are just scary.

And that last one... Can she even wear any kind of shoes other than sandals?

:freak:

40. if you have nails like that, you have to have servants,
that's all I have to say about it.

That is just WRONG.

I am a lazy bum but keyboarding is enough to wreck your nails, so if any of these people do a lot of keyboard work, they are holding their wrists and hands in very unhealthy positions and will end up in pain as a result. Not to mention the loss of dexterity just trying to hit the right keys.

My nails are strong, healthy, clean and a modest length. I have them manicured every month to 6 weeks and buffed. My toenails are short, and usually painted a nice clear red. I try to get a pedicure once a month, just for the leg massage, (AHHHHHH). Don't have time for the foolishness in the above photographs.

Sorry if I offended anyone on this board with this rant!
